The Vermont limited power of attorney allows a resident to grant specific powers and responsibilities to someone else. The form usually voids after completion of the assigned monetary task or at an expiration date specified by the principal in the document. The form may be used for any legal financial act in the State ranging from closing on a real estate transaction to picking up mail on behalf of the principal.
The form does not have durable powers, meaning if the principal should become incapacitated, even if the written task has not yet been completed, the form becomes void.
