The person you select is legally referred to as an ‘Agent’ or ‘Attorney in Fact’, and the responsibilities granted in the form allow for the unrestricted financial representation on your behalf. The agent may not be compensated or benefit from any decision made.
Unlike the durable version, this form does not remain in effect if the principal, or person being represented, should become incapacitated or no longer able to think with a clear mind. Although, the form must follow all Rhode Island laws in relation to power of attorney such as after filling in the form it must be signed with at least two (2) witnesses or a notary public in order for it to be valid.
