There are two (2) forms used in Louisiana for handling someone else’s motor vehicle responsibilities;

1. Registering and Obtaining Title – The power to be able to act on behalf of the principal to perform any function in relation to the automobile at the Office of Motor Vehicles.
2. Authorization to Transfer – To authorize an agent to handle the selling of a motor vehicle located in the State. All sales proceeds must be to the benefit of the Principal and the Agent is required to act in his or her best interests during negotiations.
