The motor vehicle ownership transfer power of attorney form allows you to choose someone else to sell an automobile on your behalf. The document must be signed with a notary public present. The document is most common if the owner is out of town or if the principal would like to let a used car dealer have the right to sell the vehicle to a prospective buyer and negotiate the terms to the principal’s benefit (usually commission based).
